Our first step into cosplay competition

We are invited to join a cosplay competion held at Iluma.
It’s a very disappointing event though.

Cos from the rules and regulations stated, we thought only jap culture cosplayers will be joining. But in actual fact, it became more of an halloween competition instead. Only a few authentic cosplayers turned up, sad. And the stupid hostress, asked us to reach there so early when the event only starts at night… Waste our time sia.

We joined as Sound of Horizon and our performance will be a dance to their song.
Hmm, their stage was really small. And I almost tripped off the stage a few times when we are rehearsing our dance moves in the free time. But hai hao when the competition started, there wasn’t much spectators around. So I am able to calm down a bit.(I really nervous wor)

Jessie also went to give us support n even helped us to video our performance.

Cos they asked us to reach Soo soo early , ended up we run everywhere n took a lot of pics during the free time.

During the performance. The stage damn small lor... My hands are cold and sweating and tremoring... The DJ behind the curtain over the right saw my hands and keep laughing at me some more. Stupid!

Wa Lolita!

It's cosplay time again! Venue STCC as well.
I love event at STCC, cos wont sweat! This time our lovely manager joining us in cosplay.
Yes, tt's the chio bu jessie o!
We haven came up with any costumes yet, so we decided to wear our lolis costumes instead.
My costume is maid wa lolita servant. The headdress is a bit off though, but if I dun wear it, it will look too simple. LOL.
Aiko theme is the french barbie while Jessie is the gothic princess…
And this time, Jason became our manager for the event.

Me after the event at my friend's wedding dinner @ Swisshotel. I actually dun wanna change out of my costume de, but when i entered the reception area, all the stares on me made me rush into the toilet straight away.

The 3 barbies with Mr Amrstrong... He took part in the cosplay competition and even sang on stage. So darling! (PS: I am quite scared of him though...)

Suddenly left me alone with all the cameras... Somemore is standing near the escalator, must have gotten some curses from the passagers...

Coscon at Suntec Convection Center

It's another cosplay event, and this time is at STCC, where it is airconditioned! No more sweating this time...

This event marks a huge improvement in our cosplay o, cos we hand sewed all our costumes:)

We are cosplaying as Sound of Horizon- Roman version. Even Aiko hubby joined us as the male lead o...

For the costume, it took me around 1 to 2 wks to complete, cos i short cut the steps. The shirt i just sewn on the black ribbons to the collar and altered the sleeves to black sleeves adding the green tulle and for the skirt, i just sew the layers of gathers to an unwanted long tube.

For the obi, i used my wa loli obi, dun waste it ma... And the cardigan is 100% sewn from stretch. I can still remember that day morning i was still struggling with my head dress.. Cos i too last minute le. Hohoho...

Everything turns up well though, at least the costume never splits opens when i worn it. Hahhaha...

Hoho, this cosplayer really scary, she was posing solo, and one mummy with a baby cram walked past her. The baby actually cried when he saw her.. LOL. Her aura is too scary...

Aiko with our manager of the day- Jessica. She is really tall and slim, a classic beauty queen. She volunteered to carry our bags and help us take photos throughout the event without any complainings o. love her. Muacks.

Coscon 2009 It's a very happy event~~

Coscon 2009, held at downtown easy. Cosplayers are everywhere!
We made a few new cosplayers friend there:)

My cousin n me brought this vampire knight costumes at Otaku house. Damn exp... But we still brought it. Me cosplaying as Yuki Cross n my cousin cosplaying as... I forgot the name le. hahhaha.

It's really hot there, keep sweating o... But the pics are nicer cos of the bright sunlight:)

Mr Mario! We met him a few times during cosplaying events le. He is very bubbly o...

And this super cute dragonball boy. Next time i have my children, i also will doll them up in cawaii characters n go to events together. LOL

Ohya, meet my new bf, Kaname n Zero is nothing compared to him. Hoho... He even proposed to me o! C below v.

After lotsa photoshooting, we saw this uncle photographer in one corner with his big umbrella... He helped us to take very professional pics o n even taught us how to post. He is really a great uncle, cos he even took down our emails n send us the pics a few days later. Seems like he will bring his umbrella along to most of the cosplay events to help the cosplayers to take pics de... And most importantly, it's all free of charge:)

The pro pics? I dun look good with my still protuding braces, so i dun bother to up them here...

Our poses are still very beginner, as you can see from the pictures. But we have improved a lot now le o... Later you will see.

NUH Dinner N Dance

It is the twice yearly NUH DnD event and it is held at my previous working place- Swissotel! Yo! Last time working there as a banquet waitress for one yr plus? Really fun memories then:)

And their dinner theme is all over the world, so i worn my wa lolita costume! Everybody said the costume was very nice o, the love the skirt, there are bells attached and it rings as you move. Cawaii!

Pls ignore my hair portion, anyhow got it done myself to save the makeover $$.

My dear ex collegue Wang Fang, super sexy back ne. And my cawaii big bow. Hoho... I love being in the centre of attention. (Vain pot) Hahaha.

And my other loveable girl- Zhu Yan... She loves good in cheong sam o... Cos she got the curves... If i wear sure sucks man...

Anyway the Dn D was fun, but too bad i never won anything in the lucky draw. Sighz.

Starting of Journey....

Saw one gal photos on her cosplay on facebook.

Got curious and consulted my cousin -Aiko (she loves lolita fashion since teenager)
She introduced me to the craze, and we both went crazy over it...
LOL.
Ended up i spent a few hundred on sweet lolita attires imported from Japan. (TT time still working in nuh, still got money...)
And we attended our first cosplay event at scape- Street Festival 2009 june.



This 2 dollies dresses n wigs are damn exp de. They really very rich lor... Kill me also wont spent the hundreds on branded loli dresses.

Me with my lao po- wen. First time cosplaying, so my attire is sweet n simple lolita. Dunno how to do up my hair, so just add some clip on hair extensions.. That day is real hot lor, sweating...

With another best friend -shan, really glad they came to join me for the event. But they more shy, so cosplay to them is out of question... The rabi i'm hugging was brought at the event booth. Can't remember the price, brought it out of spur so the photos will be nicer. LOL. Now the rabi ears are torn le, cos i gave them to my dogs to play.

And this is my cousin- Aiko n her hubby-Jason. She is wearing punk loli as well...

Still can remember our first time there, we saw lotsa cosplayers, wow wow wow, but dunno what characters they are cosplaying though... Cos i only know sakura the cardcaptor then. LOL. Very ignorant...

After the event ended we went to catch a movie at cine... tata... N i became obessed with cosplay le....

Hi everybody... I am just a simple gal who loves sewing and cosplaying:) Most of my costumes are hand sewn by myself and i also helps my cosplay kakis to sew some too.
Wanted to set up this blog to showcase my cosplay experiences and of course will uploading a lot a lot of the photos wor!
